Crystaldinnocenti@systemone.com Position Overview We are seeking a Journeyman Performance Tester to join our team onsite in New Carrollton, MD. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing, scripting, and executing load and performance test scenarios using LoadRunner. You will collaborate with senior performance engineers to monitor application behavior, analyze bottlenecks, and ensure applications meet established non-functional requirements and SLAs. Key Responsibilities

Test Execution & Scripting:
Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated performance test scripts using LoadRunner across web-based and mainframe environments.
•
Baseline & Bottleneck Analysis:
Assist in establishing application performance baselines and conducting initial bottleneck analysis during load execution.
•
System Monitoring:
Utilize enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Splunk) during test execution to track system health, resource utilization, and application performance metrics.
•
Requirements Translation:
Work with project teams to understand Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and non-functional requirements, translating them into executable test scenarios.

Cloud Performance Testing:
Execute performance tests within cloud-hosted or hybrid environments (AWS/Azure).

Reporting & Data Support:
Collect, analyze, and format test results to assist senior engineers in generating actionable performance findings and capacity recommendations. Qualifications & Requirements
•
Experience:
3 to 5 years of dedicated hands-on performance testing experience.
•
Tool Proficiency:
Strong proficiency with LoadRunner (Virtual User Generator, Controller, Analysis) or similar industry-standard performance testing tools.
•
Monitoring Tools:
Hands-on experience using APM and logging tools such as AppDynamics and Splunk to identify application issues.
•
Environment Knowledge:
Familiarity with both modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and legacy/mainframe web-based systems.
•
Analytical Skills:
Solid understanding of non-functional requirements, response times, throughput, and error rates, with the ability to interpret raw performance metrics.
•
Clearance:
Active IRS Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) or ability to obtain one is strongly preferred.
