Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on FOTA Validation Engineer to lead Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) software updates, connected services, and overall vehicle fleet integration. In this role, you will manage software and hardware configurations for vehicle fleets, analyze update failures, and ensure assigned vehicle platforms meet all functional, security, and quality targets on schedule.
Key Job Responsibilities FOTA & Software Integration:
Manage and validate Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) updates across vehicle fleets to ensure correct software and hardware configurations for critical testing and vehicle milestones.
Failure Analysis & Issue Resolution:
Analyze FOTA update failures using vehicle logs and diagnostic data. Coordinate directly with software, connected services, cybersecurity, validation, and supplier teams to drive timely resolutions.
Fleet & Mule Support:
Support vehicle integration teams by maintaining up-to-date fleet software/hardware, collecting diagnostic data, and providing dedicated mule vehicle support and issue resolution.
Connected Services & Security:
Oversee Connected Services, Vehicle Access, Start, and Security features for assigned platforms, ensuring features meet customer expectations and milestone timelines.
Functional & System Validation:
Conduct reviews of functional systems (including CFD analysis), create development test plans with lab engineers, and execute over-the-road test trips. Ensure all vehicle functional objectives are achieved and recommend corrective actions to the Product team.
NVH Target Management:
Responsible for Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) Functional Objective target development, test plan creation, and validation alongside Test Engineers and Performance Specialists.
Validation & DVP&R:
Proactively plan and track vehicle validation, actively support systems under your remit, and manage Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) testing and documentation.
Cross-Functional Communication:
Issue necessary documentation for issue resolution, lead status reporting across disciplines, and collaborate closely with exterior styling studio members and supplier teams.
