ROLE OVERVIEW
The Validation Technician is responsible for the setup, execution, monitoring, documentation, and reporting of product validation testing for automotive components and systems. This role supports product development by ensuring all validation activities are conducted according to customer specifications, engineering standards, test procedures, and laboratory requirements. The successful candidate will be highly proficient in test fixture design and operation, laboratory equipment, environmental and durability testing, instrumentation, controls, and data acquisition systems. The individual must be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple test requests simultaneously while maintaining accurate communication regarding test status, timing, risks, and completion. This position works closely with Validation Engineers, Product Engineering, Program Management, customers, suppliers, and external laboratories to ensure timely and successful execution of validation activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Validation Test Execution o Set up, execute, monitor, and document validation testing activities.
o Conduct testing according to requests and requirements o Monitor test performance and ensure compliance throughout test execution. o Verify test readiness prior to test initiation. o Ensure accurate completion of test records and documentation. o Identify and communicate test issues, abnormalities, and failures.
- Laboratory Testing Support o Support and conduct testing
- Test Fixture & Equipment Management o Validation Fixture Expertise o Test Equipment Operation o Responsibilities include: § Equipment setup § Calibration verification § Basic troubleshooting § Preventive maintenance support § Equipment readiness monitoring
- Controls & Data Acquisition o Instrumentation and Controls o Data Acquisition Systems o Preferred experience with:
- Test Request & Timing Management o Laboratory Coordination
- Manage incoming test requests and priorities.
- Coordinate test scheduling and laboratory resources.
- Track all active and pending validation activities.
- Maintain visibility of test timing, status, and completion dates.
- Support laboratory workload planning. o Status Communication
- Provide regular status updates to Validation Engineers and engineering teams.
- Communicate schedule changes, delays, risks, and issues proactively.
- Ensure stakeholders are informed of testing progress and completion.
- Maintain clear and accurate records of all test activities.
Customer Specification Compliance o Review and understand customer test requirements. o Follow approved validation procedures and work instructions. o Ensure testing is conducted according to defined customer specifications. o Verify correct samples, fixtures, and test conditions are utilized. o Support compliance with customer documentation requirements. Laboratory Documentation & Reporting o Maintain accurate laboratory records. o Prepare test summaries and supporting documentation. o Ensure records are completed and archived according to company requirements. o Support audit readiness activities. Cross-Functional Collaboration o Support investigation of test failures and root cause activities. o Participate in laboratory improvement initiatives. o Assist engineering teams with prototype evaluation and development testing.
