Quality Assurance Tester

Job Description

Quality Assurance Tester Brady Martz St. Louis, MO Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Benefits Profit sharing Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Flexible spending account Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Regression testing implementation PHP User acceptance testing TypeScript Cross-functional communication Full Job Description The Quality Assurance Tester is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and usability of internal software applications. This role designs and maintains automated and manual testing, manages realistic test data, partners with Development and Product throughout the software lifecycle, and serves as a final quality gate before release.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain automated test coverage, including unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression testing, across Angular frontends and Symfony/PHP APIs. Maintain and extend the frontend unit test suite in Vitest, adding meaningful coverage as features are developed and the codebase evolves. Create and maintain Foundry factories and test data that provide realistic development examples and stable records for automated testing. Perform manual and exploratory testing when human judgment is more effective than automation in identifying quality or usability issues. Own testing through user acceptance testing (UAT), including writing clear, non-technical test scripts and scenarios for Product and stakeholder review. Triage, document, and track defects with clear reproduction steps; verify fixes and confirm that changes do not introduce regressions. Partner with Development and Product early to review specifications and acceptance criteria, identify edge cases, and build quality into the solution from the start. Use AI tools to accelerate test case creation, exploratory test design, test data, and script authoring while independently validating all outputs. Help define and maintain quality standards, test coverage expectations, and release-readiness criteria as the application portfolio grows. Requirements Associate degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field required; bachelor's degree preferred. Relevant fields include computer science, information systems, data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, accounting, finance, and economics. Strong ability to understand and reason through complex relational data models, including schemas, relationships, foreign keys, and valid data states. Demonstrated curiosity about how a business operates and the ability to learn an unfamiliar domain quickly by asking effective questions and building a strong understanding of expected outcomes. Ability to read TypeScript and PHP well enough to understand application behavior and evaluate whether test code and AI-generated outputs are valid. Solid understanding of the software testing lifecycle, including functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and user acceptance testing. Strong judgment in evaluating test quality, including the ability to recognize tests that pass without meaningfully validating expected behavior. Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working through ambiguity, changing requirements, and frequent releases without sacrificing quality. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate between technical teams and business users. Working comfort with AI tools for generating test cases, test data, and scripts, or demonstrated aptitude and interest in making AI a regular part of the testing process. Preferred experience with Vitest, Playwright, Angular Testing Library, Foundry or similar factory/seeding tools, relational data analysis, systems/ERP implementation, professional services, accounting, or advisory environments. Benefits Health insurance; dental insurance; vision insurance; an employer funded profit-sharing plan with a 401(k) option (upon meeting eligibility requirements), group term life insurance, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts and a flexible time off and paid leave program.

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • 401(k) Plans
