Batch Tester - Micro Focus COBOL

Job Description:

Design test plan and execute test cases for Micro Focus COBOL batch and online applications using TN3270 terminal sessions. Analyze business requirements and functional specifications to prepare test scenarios and test data. Perform functional, regression, and integration testing of COBOL programs. Debug and support resolution of defects in batch jobs and online programs in coordination with developers. Verify batch job execution and dependencies using CA Workload Automation (WLA). Validate job schedules, reruns, and recovery scenarios. Use TN3270 emulators (Reflection) Access online screens Execute transactions Validate screen outputs and error messages Create and maintain Windows batch scripts / PowerShell scripts for test automation and environment setup. Participate in code reviews and requirement walkthroughs to ensure testability and coverage. Validate file processing logic involving: Flat files and Indexed files Perform data validation and reconciliation between: Input files and Output files MS SQL Server / Oracle databases: Test SQL queries and stored procedures for: Data accuracy, Performance and Referential integrity Coordinate with developers, business analysts, and operations teams for: Release testing, UAT support and Production validation Nice to have: Insurance domain knowledge (policy admin, claims, billing) Regards, Ajay Tanwar E-Solutions Inc. | 2 North Market Street | Suite #400 | San Jose, CA - 95113
