This role is ideal for a security-focused engineer with extensive experience managing and automating API gateway platforms, specifically Kong. The organization operates within the cybersecurity and technology industry, emphasizing automation, security, and infrastructure efficiency. Position Overview for the Kong Automation Developer (Security Team): Support the automation and administration of the client's Kong API Gateway environment as part of the security engineering team. This role involves building automation workflows, managing plugins, and enforcing security policies to ensure a robust API management framework. You will work closely with development and security teams to optimize the gateway operations and implement automation best practices. Requirements for the Kong Automation Developer (Security Team): 5-7 years of experience automating and managing API gateway platforms, with hands-on expertise in Kong (Kong Gateway/Kong Enterprise). Responsible for building automation for Kong configuration, plugin management, and policy enforcement (rate limiting, authentication, access control). Experience scripting with Python or Go for automation workflows, and working with declarative config (decK) or Kong Admin API. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices for gateway environment management. Strong technical acumen in Kong API Gateway administration and automation, including plugin configuration and security policy enforcement. What's in it for you?
