Automation Test Engineer Part-time

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Part-time Automation Test Engineer to join our innovative software quality assurance team. Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, and Jenkins to validate software functionality across multiple platforms including Android, iOS, and web applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test cases and automation strategies. Perform functional, regression, performance (using LoadRunner or similar tools), system, and user acceptance testing to identify issues early in the development lifecycle. Conduct root cause analysis on defects to identify underlying issues related to APIs (RESTful/SOAP), databases (MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle), or system integrations. Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines by integrating automated tests into build processes using tools like GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or TFS. Assist in troubleshooting software issues by debugging code with Visual Studio, Eclipse or similar IDEs; analyze logs and data to pinpoint root causes for faster resolution. Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, test results, defect reports in HP ALM or Jira; ensure traceability from requirements gathering through release management. Requirements Proven experience in test automation frameworks utilizing Selenium WebDriver with programming languages such as Java or Python; familiarity with scripting languages like JavaScript or Bash is a plus. Strong understanding of mobile testing on Android and iOS platforms with tools like Appium or similar automation frameworks. Hands-on experience with API testing using RESTful services and tools such as Postman or SoapUI; knowledge of JSON and XML data formats is essential. Proficiency in database querying using SQL (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server) or PL/SQL for data validation and analysis. Familiarity with version control systems including GitHub, GitLab, SVN; experience with build tools like Maven or Ant is advantageous. Knowledge of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), and release management processes. Strong analytical skills for data analysis and troubleshooting complex issues; ability to perform load testing and performance analysis using LoadRunner or similar tools. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams; detail-oriented with a passion for quality assurance and continuous improvement.
