Job Description
Job Summary Our client, a leading communications provider, is seeking a QA Lead to owns test strategy, execution, and defect management. This person will ensure testing is planned early and coverage protects critical use cases. This position is remote and a 6-12-month contract to start. This position is W-2 only. We are open to working with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role. Core Responsibilities Automating new manual test scripts stored in the Octane test case management tool Updating and rewriting existing automation scripts to support new functionality or improve resilience against technical execution failures Executing automation batches for out-of-cycle testing requests as needed Troubleshooting automation failures, performing necessary repairs or refactoring to ensure successful execution Clearly communicating progress, risks, and any blockers Proactively seeking assistance when encountering obstacles Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves) Requires managing both manual and automation testing aspects JIRA Postman HP ALM Other testing tools Ability to support and triage automation efforts as needed Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves) Jenkins Eclipse Bitbucket or GitLab FAME Octane Java Key Competencies & Behaviors Understands and has worked with nuances of testing in telco Communication will be super important Need to be able to work independently Will eventually need to coordinate with offshore
