Quality Engineer Location:
Remot but prefer candidates in Dallas, TX We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer (QE) with expertise in both manual and automation testing, specifically using Cypress. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of web applications through robust test planning, execution, and automation. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress for web applications. Perform manual testing for new features, regression, and exploratory testing as needed. Create and manage test plans, test cases, and test data based on product requirements and user stories. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to ensure continuous quality validation. Identify, document, and track bugs and issues using tools like Jira or similar. Collaborate with developers and product teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage. Analyze test results and provide actionable feedback to improve product quality. Maintain and enhance the automation framework to support scalability and reusability. Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives as part of the agile process.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in software testing, with a mix of manual and automation. Strong hands-on experience with Cypress for end-to-end testing. Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for writing Cypress tests. Experience with web application testing, including UI, API, and integration testing. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with other automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright). Knowledge of
REST API
testing using tools like Postman or Cypress. Exposure to performance testing and security testing concepts. Experience with BDD frameworks like Cucumber. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
