We are seeking a Web QA Tester to help ensure client websites are functional, consistent, and ready for launch. You will test new websites and updates, document defects, verify fixes, and work with designers and developers to improve the user experience. This role focuses on practical website testing across desktop and mobile environments. It is suited to someone who notices details, investigates problems methodically, and communicates findings clearly.
Responsibilities:
Review project requirements, approved designs, and acceptance criteria before testing. Create and maintain test cases and checklists for websites and e-commerce projects. Test navigation, links, forms, search features, and other interactive elements. Check responsive layouts across agreed browsers, devices, and screen sizes. Compare implemented pages with approved designs and report inconsistencies. Test WordPress and Shopify functionality relevant to each project. Verify product pages, cart behavior, discounts, and checkout flows using approved test environments and payment methods. Check confirmation messages, validation errors, and notifications. Identify content issues such as missing images, incorrect links, formatting problems, and placeholder text. Perform basic accessibility checks, including keyboard navigation, form labels, focus visibility, and readable content. Document defects with clear reproduction steps, expected and actual results, screenshots, and environment details. Work with developers to clarify issues, verify fixes, and perform regression testing. Support pre-launch reviews and post-launch smoke tests within the approved scope. Handle client information securely and avoid using real customer data for testing without authorization.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in website testing, software quality assurance, or a closely related role. Understanding of functional, regression, responsive, and cross-browser testing. Ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports. Familiarity with browser developer tools and common website behavior. Basic understanding of HTML and CSS. Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to troubleshooting. Ability to prioritize testing tasks and distinguish critical defects from minor issues.
