Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our innovative software development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining comprehensive test plans to ensure the highest quality of our software products. You will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to identify testing requirements, develop automation scripts, and troubleshoot issues. Your expertise will help deliver reliable, scalable, and user-friendly applications across multiple platforms including web, mobile, and APIs. Responsibilities Develop detailed test cases, scripts, and plans based on business requirements and technical specifications. Execute manual and automated tests across various platforms such as Android, iOS, web browsers, and APIs to verify functionality, performance, and security. Utilize testing tools like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, LoadRunner, and HP ALM to automate test processes and improve efficiency. Perform functional testing, system testing, regression testing, performance testing, load testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT). Analyze test results to identify root causes of defects; document issues clearly using defect tracking tools like Jira or TFS. Collaborate with development teams during the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) to ensure quality standards are met through continuous integration (CI/CD) practices. Conduct API testing using RESTful services with tools such as Postman or SoapUI; validate data exchange via JSON and XML formats. Support troubleshooting efforts by debugging code issues related to automation scripts or application bugs; perform SQL queries using MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server for data validation. Participate in requirements gathering sessions and contribute to QA test planning to align testing strategies with project goals. Qualifications Proven experience in software quality assurance within IT environments with a strong understanding of SDLC methodologies like Agile and Waterfall. Hands-on expertise in automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber (BDD), Jenkins, GitHub/GitLab for version control and CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in scripting languages including JavaScript, Python, Bash (Unix shell), or C#/.NET for developing automation frameworks. Solid knowledge of mobile testing on Android and iOS platforms using tools like Appium; familiarity with mobile applications' UI/UX considerations is a plus. Strong understanding of API testing involving RESTful web services; experience with SOAP is advantageous. Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB or Microsoft SQL Server for data analysis and validation purposes. Experience with defect tracking tools like Jira or HP ALM; ability to perform root cause analysis and debugging effectively. Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail; capable of designing comprehensive test cases based on business requirements. Knowledge of version control systems such as Git or SVN; experience working within DevOps environments supporting continuous integration/delivery pipelines.
