Job Description Division of Student Affairs & Enrollment Management Business Systems Analyst
III RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
CRM Configuration & System Administration Configure and maintain Slate objects (forms, events, fields, rules, queries, reports, communications) to support admissions and enrollment workflows; manage basic user access and role updates in coordination with security standards. Coordinate integrations (e.g., PeopleSoft, third-party services), monitor performance, and validate end-to-end data flows and scheduled jobs. Project Development & Implementation Lead project teams to translate business requirements into solution designs, establish schedules, manage resources, and track progress to deliver milestones and goals. Develop project artifacts (requirements, use cases, test plans) and drive stakeholder consensus on priorities and scope; coordinate end-user training and documentation. Systems Analysis, Process Improvement & Change Management Analyze functional needs, inputs/outputs, and operational functions; recommend configuration and vendor options; conduct process mapping to streamline workflows and standardize practices. Validate post-deployment outcomes against specifications; iterate using feedback and metrics. Facilitate structured change management (impact assessment, approvals, communications, training) for upgrades and configuration changes. Testing, Releases & Change Management Plan and execute system integration, regression, user acceptance testing (UAT), and quality assurance (QA) testing for upgrades/new functionality; manage issue logs through remediation and sign-off. Coordinate cutover and release activities following software development life cycle and quality practices. Data Quality, Reporting & Dashboards Monitor and improve data quality; perform audits, reconciliations, and cleanup; define data standards and dictionaries in partnership with stakeholders. Build and maintain operational reports, advanced queries, and dashboards for recruitment and admissions data to support stakeholders in decision making; run routine data integrity checks. Stakeholder Support & Training Provide consultative support, troubleshooting, and targeted training; create user guides and quick-reference materials to increase effective system use. Collaborate closely with Enrollment Management Marketing & Visitor Experience, Admissions & Recruitment, Registrar, Financial Aid, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and Information Technology Service to align CRM functionality with enrollment goals and compliance standards. Represent the office in CSU systemwide or vendor/user-group discussions as appropriate to share practices and gather insights.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience:
Additional experience demonstrating the required knowledge and abilities may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and ensure successful delivery within scope, budget, and timelines. Advanced analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; ability to translate functional needs into scalable technical solutions and manage competing priorities. Advanced communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across admissions, enrollment management, and IT; ability to drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated expertise in leading and managing complex IT/business systems projects, including requirements, prioritization, testing, and release management. Strong proficiency in Slate CRM (or comparable CRM) configuration and administration, including security, workflows, forms, rules, queries, reporting, and communications. Experience administering or supporting Technolutions Slate (or comparable CRM) in higher education; familiarity with admissions/enrollment processes. Experience with PeopleSoft (queries/integration touchpoints) and related enrollment technologies and data exchanges. Technical familiarity with SQL/XML and web concepts (HTML/CSS) useful for configuration, troubleshooting, and data transformations in Slate. Special Conditions Evening/weekend work may be necessary during peak admission cycles; occasional travel for systemwide/user-community engagements. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position. The person holding this position is considered a 'Campus Security Authority (CSA)' to report crimes for the federally mandated Clery Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1107 revised March 24, 2017 as a condition of employment.
