19 Months Position Summary Client Marketing team is looking for a temporary JIRA Specialist to improve and optimize our existing, post-migration JIRA environment from the backend and align it with better ways of working across the business.
This is a hands-on role:
reworking our current backend configuration while coordinating process & workflow improvements with our internal teams, IT, and vendor partners. Key Responsibilities Assess our existing post-migration JIRA configuration and improve it from the backend refining our current Story, Task/Sub-task, and Bug workflows, statuses, critical paths, and environment tagging (Prod vs. Non-Prod) so they better reflect how the team should be working. Standardize and clean up existing conventions for issue types, priority vs. severity, and sprint accountability, and encode them consistently into the tool. Coordinate process optimizations across the business partnering with Digital Marketing, IT, and VML to align our current workflows and standards. Improve existing dashboards, boards, filters, and reporting to give the team and leadership clearer visibility into progress and health. Document the refined workflows and provide lightweight guides so the team can sustain the improvements after the engagement. Required Qualifications 3+ years hands-on JIRA administration/configuration reworking workflows, issue types, permissions, boards, dashboards, and reporting in established environments. Strong grasp of Agile/sprint delivery and how to translate team processes into clean backend workflow design. Proven ability to assess an existing setup and improve it, rather than only building from scratch. Proven ability to coordinate process alignment across internal teams, IT, and external vendors in a governed enterprise environment. Excellent documentation and stakeholder-communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience optimizing an established JIRA Cloud instance in a governed enterprise environment. Familiarity with Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps, and Zephyr.
Engagement Details Term:
~3 months, focused on improving our existing post-migration JIRA workflows and coordinating process alignment across the business.
Time commitment:
