Job Description

Information Technology Internship Program (Must be a Bradley University Student) Summary /
Purpose:
The IT Intern will support IMEC s Information Technology team while gaining hands-on experience across multiple areas of IT operations. This role provides exposure to development, data management, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and project management within a professional environment that supports Illinois manufacturers. The Intern will contribute to real-world projects, assist with day-to-day IT operations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support technology solutions that enhance business performance. This internship is designed to build foundational technical skills, business acumen, and professional experience. While each internship term is flexible, students who demonstrate strong performance and interest may have the opportunity to extend their experience and take on new responsibilities across multiple terms. Internship Experience:
Through this internship, the Intern will: Gain hands-on experience across multiple IT disciplines Develop technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills Build familiarity with business systems, tools, and processes Strengthen communication and collaboration skills in a professional environment
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Development & Systems Support Assist with maintaining and improving internal development platforms Review code and scripts to identify opportunities for improvement Support updates and enhancements to CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce Lightning pages and layouts) Data Management & Analytics Create and maintain reports within CRM and data systems Support management and organization of SQL databases and data infrastructure Conduct research using cloud-based tools to support data analytics and insights Cybersecurity Assist with monitoring and tuning of security platforms (e.g., SIEM tools) Support workstation monitoring and cybersecurity best practices Perform user account administration (creation, updates, deletion) Assist with routine system patching and security updates Infrastructure & End-User Support Monitor and respond to IT support tickets Provide basic technical support to internal users Assist with inventory tracking and lifecycle management of IT equipment Project Management & Continuous Improvement Support Agile workflows, including tracking tasks and progress Assist in gathering requirements for new IT projects Help maintain project documentation and reporting Identify opportunities to improve processes and team efficiency
Education & Experience Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor s degree in: Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems, or related field Academic standing: Early-stage undergraduate students preferred to support a longer-term internship experience and continued development Demonstrated interest in: Emerging Information Technology (AI, Automation, etc.), Cybersecurity, Power Platform, or Cloud Platforms Technical skills (preferred): SQL, Python, Java, Salesforce, cloud platforms, Microsoft tools Other Skills and abilities: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to conduct research and synthesize information Creative thinking and problem-solving ability Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Language Skills:
Must be able to communicate effectively with community organizations, public stakeholders, third-party resources, client personnel, and employees at all organizational levels and to develop effective working relationships with staff and a network of technical resources.
Reasoning Ability:
Individual must be a team player with the ability to exercise independent, sound judgment and discretion; be able to plan; be well organized; work well under pressure; take initiative; and be flexible and cooperative.
Physical Demands:
Position requires the ability to sit for long periods at a computer terminal. Some walking, standing, and bending are required.
Work Environment:
Team-oriented office environment with exposure to real-world business operations. Flexible scheduling to balance work responsibilities with academic commitments.
