Position Summary:
Director Enterprise Planning & Portfolio Management Xcel Energy is embarking on a strategic journey to modernize its enterprise planning and portfolio management capabilities through the implementation of SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management (EPPM) and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) Planning. This role is a critical technology leadership position responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of these capabilities, including strategy, solution design, build, testing, deployment, integration, and operational stabilization. We are seeking a leader who brings deep SAP EPPM and SAC Planning expertise, strong technical and functional acumen, and a demonstrated ability to successfully deliver large-scale transformation programs. The successful candidate will serve as the primary technology leader for this initiative, partnering closely with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into technology solutions that enhance planning, portfolio visibility, investment decision-making, and execution excellence. This leader will be responsible for driving implementation delivery, leading cross-functional teams, managing vendor and system integrator relationships, and ensuring successful adoption and operational readiness. Success in this role requires a balance of strategic thinking, hands-on delivery leadership, business partnership, and technical depth to guide Xcel Energy through a transformational modernization effort that will shape the future of enterprise planning and portfolio management across the organization. Skills and Requirements Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in large-scale ERP, enterprise planning, or digital transformation initiatives. 5+ years leading enterprise SAP implementations or major transformation programs. Experience implementing or managing
SAP SAC, SAP EPPM, SAP BPC, SAP
S/4HANA, or related enterprise planning technologies. Demonstrated success leading large cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide initiatives. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience managing large consulting/vendor partnerships and enterprise program budgets. Experience within utilities, energy, infrastructure, or other asset-intensive industries. Experience supporting large-scale capital portfolio management and financial planning processes. Familiarity with enterprise forecasting, workforce planning, project portfolio governance, and operational planning. Experience integrating enterprise planning solutions with cloud-based analytics and AI platforms. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
