Pay Rate:
$53-$56 per hour on W2 Position overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Capital Asset Reconciliation Specialist to support capital-project closeout and asset-capitalization activities. This person will identify, document and reconcile capital-project expenditures into fixed assets, helping ensure projects are closed and assets are capitalized accurately and on time. The position requires someone who can connect financial transactions with the physical equipment or assets purchased and installed. You will work with project managers, engineers, facility subject-matter experts, accounting teams and vendors to research documentation and resolve open capitalization questions. Responsibilities Review capital-project transactions, purchase orders, invoices and open commitments in Microsoft Dynamics 365. Work with project managers, engineers, facility teams and vendors to determine which physical assets were purchased and installed. Reconcile capital-project spending to individual assets and asset groups. Support capital-project closeout and asset-capitalization activities. Develop and maintain detailed trackers documenting: Identified assets Supporting financial transactions Asset locations Outstanding documentation Open questions and action items Capitalization status Coordinate with Fixed Asset Accounting to ensure assets are established correctly in the financial system. Research historical project records, purchase orders, contracts, vendor invoices and commissioning documentation. Contact external vendors and equipment suppliers to obtain missing documentation. Follow up with stakeholders to resolve information gaps and drive open items to completion. Prepare reports summarizing capitalization progress, outstanding issues and potential tax-depreciation opportunities. Manage multiple projects, investigations and open issues simultaneously. Required qualifications Experience with capital projects, fixed assets, accounting, procurement or project controls. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience reviewing and interpreting purchase orders, invoices, contracts and vendor documentation. Strong analytical, reconciliation and investigative abilities. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Ability to work across Engineering, Operations, Finance, Procurement and external vendors. Comfortable independently researching discrepancies and following issues through resolution. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred qualifications Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. Experience with another major ERP system such as SAP or Oracle. Knowledge of fixed-asset accounting and capitalization processes. Experience performing transaction-level reconciliations or audits. Familiarity with capital-project closeout and project-lifecycle documentation. Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or another regulated environment. Ideal candidate The ideal candidate enjoys digging into detailed financial and project records to determine what was purchased, where it was installed and how it should be capitalized. This person must be persistent, comfortable asking questions and capable of independently driving investigations and open action items to completion.
