Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill three part-time (up to a maximum of 20 hours per week while class is in session and up to 30 hours per week during term breaks) Internal Controls Interns within the Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) at Oregon State University (OSU). This Internship Program is designed for Business Information Systems majors to develop essential skills and gain hands-on experience in project management, data management, business analytics, application development, information systems security, and information systems design, depending on project requirements. Led by the direction of DFA's Strategy and Operations department, Internal Controls Interns will take part in a variety of tasks, includingmunicating and collaborating with stakeholders and DFA staff, and being responsible for outlining and delivering key project deliverables. DFA Strategy and Operations uses the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)petencies as a guide to provide interns with the essential skills employers seek in their hires. Transferable Skill Development OSU ismitted to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees. Thepetencies students develop while working at OSU are defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as the essential skills employers seek in their hires. - Assist in the development of project artifacts for use by DFA business units.
- Collaborate with staff, stakeholders, and project steeringmittee to identify and document needed outputs. Standard Operating Procedures Development
- Create repeatable and consistent means of process documentation.
- Develop documentation of operational tasks related to the assessment of current and future state assessments. Risk Assessment
- As part of documenting controls, conduct risk assessments for the project to determine vulnerabilities.
- Develop inventory of risks and associated controls for the project. Documentation
- Document efforts clearly, including explanations when appropriate, to ensure easy access and understanding by staff and future interns building from your work.

- Majoring in Business Information Systems
- A "world perspective" whichbines analytical abilities and research experience with the aptitude to these skills to new opportunities
- Demonstrated interest in internal controls
- Strong qualitative and quantitative research abilities
- Strong verbal and writtenmunication skills, including ability tomunicate professionally through email, documents, in-person, and over video/phone
- Self-motivated and willing to take initiative and receive feedback
- Ability and desire to work with peers as a team

- Background in a specific field such as education systems, data analytics, market analysis, and design
- Experience and demonstrated success working on self-directed projects
- Previous internship or work experience in a related field.

- Interns will bepensated for up to approximately 20 hours per week of work during the school term, and up to 30 hours of work per week during the summer and breaks

- Interns will be required to participate in orientation and training sessions before starting project work and additional training opportunities may be available during the internship
