Agency Department of Information Technology Division Chief Deputy SCIO Job Classification Title Applications Systems Analyst I (NS) Position Number 60035594 Grade DT07 About Us The N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that NCDIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies, as well as schools, colleges and universities. NCDIT's mission is to enable trusted business-driven solutions that meet the needs of North Carolinians. NCDIT provides technology services to state agencies and is charged with closing the digital divide by expanding availability of broadband services and promoting the adoption of affordable, high-speed internet.
Description of Work Salary Range:
$70,528 - $105,793 EHRA - The position is designated Statutory Exempt (EHRA) and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act Step into a role where your ideas matter—become our next Applications Systems Analyst I! This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency's remote work program but does require weekly onsite work The Early Career Associate Program is ideal for recent graduates, early-career professionals, or those looking to transition to a new career seeking broad exposure to state IT operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Providing business analysis, technical support and software testing for routine maintenance and enhancements regarding the Operation, Administration and Maintenance (OAM) of both BIMS and eDMR and other applications as assigned.
- Provide Operations, support and maintenance of the Basin Information Management System (BlMS) and the Electronic Discharge Monitoring Reports (eDMR) applications. This includes Business Objects and Crystal Reports support. In addition, support the implementation of security controls in all application development and maintenance.
- Support database backend functionality for both BIMS and eDMR applications.
- Assist with technology research, evaluation, analysis, test and recommendations to improve DWR IT business process.
Division:
The Division of Water Resources' (DWR) mission is to protect the state's water supplies and foster stewardship of this natural resource for use by current and future generations of citizens. The Division is comprised of fiveSections:
Water Quality Regional Operations, Water Sciences, Public Water Supply, Water Quality Permitting, and Water Planning. The primary purpose of this position is to provide business, application, technical support, and maintenance for the Basinwide Information Management System (BIMS) and the Electronic Discharge Monitoring Report (eDMR). Both applications have become essential to the Division of Water Resources over the past seven years as a mission critical application with over 400 staff and over 100 municipalities across the State relying on them in their "day-to-day" work conducting the agency's business. Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business consultation, process improvement, or requirement gathering in an information technology environment OR Associate degree in business administration, computer science or any related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of related experience in an information technology environment; OR High School or GED and five years of related experience in an information technology environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
