About the
Role:
IT has a track record of success with interns across their various teams, all who have the ability to directly contribute to the success of the department. Interns apply knowledge gained in the classroom to develop relevant professional experience while creating meaningful relationships. We look for highly motivated individuals who are proactive, eager to learn and ready to contribute. The IT Client Services team provides technical services and support to Baird associates across 200+ locations globally. This collaborative and dynamic team works in a complex technical environment with 1,000+ applications and 5,000+ devices, which allows team members to constantly learn and grow. Service Desk interns will provide outstanding service to our clients to resolve their technology needs and assist with technical project planning for hardware and software upgrades and related projects. This is a hybrid internship, working three days per week in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office and two days remote. The intern must be able to work full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week, and work part time during the school semesters, 15-20 hours per week. We are seeking a local student who can start in June 2027.The Impact You'll Make:
Deliver strong client service using a combination of effective communication and troubleshooting skills to resolve client issues and fulfill requests through phone, chat, online tools or desk side Utilize knowledge management system when troubleshooting client issues Thoroughly document, track and monitor all actions, current state and resolution steps during the lifecycle of every client request and incident to ensure timely and accurate resolution Provide technical support for all corporate hardware and software, including remote support and offsite IT support for branch or conference activity Experience Baird's collaborative culture that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives through teamwork and a strong sense of partnership by shadowing and mentorship from experienced team members and leaders What You'll Bring toBaird:
Pursuing an associate's or bachelor's degree in information technology management, information systems, computer science, MIS or related degree Anticipated graduation date of May 2028 or later Technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 suite Possess basic technical skills with prior troubleshooting hardware and software support experience Previous experience installing or assembling computers is preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect clearly and professionally with clients and associates and communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel Professional, calm and courteous with a focus on providing excellent client service Possesses a natural curiosity in understanding the application of technology to solve business problems Organizational excellence, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate strong attention to detail and ensure high-quality and on-time delivery High level of motivation, proactivity and strategic thinking, with a strong commitment to learning and contributing effectivelyAbout Our Intern Program:
