CACI is seeking a Software License Management Specialist to support enterprise software asset management within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. Reporting to the Software License Management Manager, this role will support day-to-day software license tracking, compliance, inventory management, reporting, and cost optimization. The Specialist will collaborate with IT, procurement, cybersecurity, and program stakeholders to maintain accurate licensing data and support effective software lifecycle management.Responsibilities:
- Maintain software license inventories, entitlements, deployments, agreements, and supporting documentation.
- Track and reconcile software usage and licensing across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Support software license compliance reviews, audits, renewals, and remediation activities.
- Maintain accurate software inventory data using SAM, ITSM, CMDB, and discovery tools.
- Identify unused, underutilized, duplicate, or noncompliant software and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze licensing and utilization data to identify cost savings and optimization opportunities.
- Support software procurement, renewals, vendor activities, and budget planning.
- Develop recurring reports and dashboards covering software usage, compliance, costs, and upcoming renewals.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation in accordance with DoD, cybersecurity, FAR, and DFARS requirements.
- Support the Software License Management Manager with SAM processes, governance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Active DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
- 5+ years of relevant IT experience, including software asset management, IT asset management, licensing, or related functions.
- Experience with SAM platforms such as Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow License Manager, or similar tools.
- Working knowledge of software licensing models, license compliance, and asset lifecycle management.
- Experience with ITSM, CMDB, or software discovery tools.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data analysis skills.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical, business, and program stakeholders.
Desired:
- Experience supporting DoD or Federal IT environments.
- SAM certification such as IAITAM CSAM or equivalent.
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud licensing.
- Experience supporting software audits, vendor renewals, and cost optimization.
- Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity, RMF, FAR, and DFARS requirements.
