The ideal candidate will have technical accounting research experience, strong knowledge of FASB and GAAP, and a CPA (or active progress toward certification). The Senior Technical Accounting Analyst role is a hybrid position with Tuesday-Thursday onsite. This is a direct hire position. Senior Technical Accounting Analyst Responsibilities Perform technical accounting research for new and complex business transactions, including leases, financial instruments, consolidations, joint ventures, and other emerging accounting issues. Prepare well-supported accounting research memoranda and policy documentation that clearly document conclusions and applicable accounting guidance. Support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements by participating in cross-functional teams to assess business impacts and implement new accounting standards. Perform accounting and financial reporting for retirement and postretirement benefit plans, including coordination with actuaries and participation in annual audits. Manage accounting and reporting for complex technical accounting areas, including share-based compensation, derivatives and hedging, contingent liabilities, lease accounting, and other specialized topics. Review new contracts to evaluate accounting implications, including embedded derivatives, lease considerations, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and FERC requirements. Provide technical accounting guidance and support on complex accounting matters to finance leadership and business partners. Assist with evaluating and implementing technology solutions that support accounting for complex transactions. Support and coordinate Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities for assigned accounting and research areas. Partner with internal and external auditors by providing technical accounting support and documentation. Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial reporting initiatives as needed. Stay current on changes to accounting standards, regulatory guidance, and industry best practices. Senior Technical Accounting Analyst Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably including technical accounting or accounting policy responsibilities. Accounting research experience or exposure is required; experience supporting publicly traded organizations is highly preferred. CPA certification or active progress toward obtaining a CPA is strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of
FASB, U.S.
GAAP, and accounting research methodologies; familiarity with SEC reporting requirements is a plus but not required. Experience researching and documenting complex accounting issues and preparing technical accounting memoranda. Public accounting experience is preferred. Experience supporting Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal controls is preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex accounting transactions. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to a variety of stakeholders. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, PivotTables, and financial reporting. Experience utilizing financial systems and technology to improve accounting processes is a plus. Pay:
