FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE EC
Software Process Specialist Position is responsible for performing a variety of administrative, technical, and support services in the support, maintenance, preparation and administration of the Special Education and Service Documentation software for Exceptional Children's Division. This position assists other identified personnel with state and federal reporting of Child Count and CIPP Indicators as well as provides support to staff for additional modules (504, LEP, AIG, MTSS) used within the third-party software system.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Training a wide variety of users (i.e. individuals, small and large groups).
  • Designing and executing presentations for training sessions using multiple modalities on how to effectively implement the software for improved student outcomes and EC compliance.
  • Performing trouble shooting and technological support duties via phone calls, emails, and personal visits based on requests from system users.
  • Organizing and analyzing all EC related data for EC staff, district users, state reports.
  • Working with software vendor to rectify issues and/or make product changes.
  • Trouble shoot and problem solve for users and software programs.
  • Use the N.C. Policies and local processes to guide in the maintenance and design of a compliant software program for the district.
  • Verify data used to report Child Count and CIPP Indicators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
? Compose accurate and concise memorandums and program user guides. ? Aggregate and disseminate data from various sources. ? Understand at a high level the North Carolina Policy for Exceptional Children. ? Process requests for data on short notice with accuracy. ? Communicate effectively verbally and in writing. ? Collaborate with team members in high stress situations. ? Meet both short and expected deadlines with flexibility and accuracy. ? Demonstrate attention to detail and maintain data accuracy. ? Self-initiated and motivated to problem-solve.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Must hold a valid North Carolina Teacher's License in the area of Exceptional Children. A minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in Exceptional Children's programs is highly preferred. Must have demonstrated extraordinary competence and understanding of Exceptional Children's process, regulations, and record keeping. Must be able to navigate the EC software program with a high level of proficiency. Must be able to operate various data processing and spreadsheet software.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Highly Qualified NC K-12 Exceptional Children Teaching License Possession of NC Driver's License. Position Reports to Senior Executive Director of Exceptional Children with functional reporting to the EC Area Directors. Certified Pay Schedule
