12+ Month Contract Role Summary The Technical Consultant will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Control-M scheduling, administration, and migration from other workload automation tools. The ideal candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in workload automation, with strong expertise in Control-M (version 9.0.18 or later). Key Responsibilities Manage Control-M Scheduling, administration, and migration from third-party schedulers such as CA7 and Autosys. Install, configure, and administer batch components for distributed scheduling systems. Secure communication between batch components using SSL, firewalls, and related technologies. Troubleshoot Control-M components and ensure high availability through DR and business continuity testing. Deliver, implement, and support Control-M add-ons such as Forecast, Batch Impact Manager, Self Service, and File Transfer. Apply site standards and utilize Workload Change Manager. Provide SQL support and database knowledge (Oracle, Postgres, DB replication). Support cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. Create documentation and custom reports for auditing and batch community use. Configure and troubleshoot schedulers and workload automation agents. Integrate Control-M with ITSM tools, LDAP, and other enterprise systems. Support application teams in implementing Control-M workflows and optimizing resource usage. Collaborate with development teams to analyze and resolve issues. Demonstrate strong communication, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. Exhibit self-motivation, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving. Technical Skills Expertise in BMC Control-M and familiarity with other workload automation tools (Autosys, One Automation).
Proficiency in scripting and programming:
Python, Shell scripting, PowerShell, SQL, SCP, SSH. Knowledge of databases and operating systems: Oracle, Tandem, Linux, Unix, Windows. Experience with Control-M Workbench, APIs, and DevOps tools such as Git, Nexus, and SaltStack. Strong foundation in system administration across Unix/Linux/Windows environments.
