Job Description

Overview We are seeking a Software Analyst to join our Engineering team. This position supports passenger railcar design and development by managing third-party software documentation, coordinating software-related deliverables, and ensuring compliance with applicable software engineering standards and customer requirements. The Software Analyst will work closely with suppliers, customers, Engineering, and other internal departments to manage project schedules, documentation, configuration management, and software process improvements. Key Responsibilities Review supplier software design and software lifecycle documentation for technical requirements and compliance with IEEE, EN, and other applicable standards. Develop project-specific software management plans in accordance with customer requirements. Prepare project plans and schedules for software-related deliverables, including software workstations and test equipment. Prepare, submit, and track software-related documentation to customers and suppliers. Communicate regularly with software suppliers to monitor progress and ensure timely delivery of required documentation and deliverables. Maintain awareness of project requirements, milestones, deliverables, and schedules to support successful project completion. Maintain Configuration Management records for supplier software, including Software Modification Requests. Support and improve software and document version management processes. Recommend appropriate hardware specifications for software workstations and related deliverables. Support software management process improvements and initiatives related to CMMI compliance. Collaborate with Engineering and other departments to support software documentation, configuration management, and project requirements. Perform additional assignments as directed by management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in software implementation and maintenance. Experience with embedded processor implementation principles is preferred. Experience with commercial and technical contracts, supplier management, and project management principles. Experience developing and maintaining formal software documentation. Familiarity with IEEE Software Engineering Standards, preferably
IEEE 1558-2004.
Familiarity with EN Software Engineering Standards, preferably
EN 50716
2023, EN 50657:2017, and
EN 50128
2011. Experience with network protocols and hard-wired/wireless LAN implementation or support. Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with suppliers, customers, Engineering, and employees at all levels. Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong service-oriented approach and professional interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Windows 10 or later. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to travel as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration). Experience with
ISO 9000
quality methods. Knowledge of general cybersecurity concepts and security measures. Experience supporting software used in transportation, rail, automotive, manufacturing, or other safety-critical environments. Why Join Us?
