Job Description
Software Test Analyst 5 Contract Opportunity | Lansing, MI | $40-$50/Hour Reliance One is seeking an experienced Software Test Analyst 5 for a hybrid contract opportunity in Lansing, Michigan. We're looking for a detail-oriented QA professional with a strong background in software testing, test automation, defect management, and enterprise applications .

What You'll Be Doing:
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements
- Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing
- Create automated test banks and repeatable automated regression testing
- Develop testing metrics and evaluate test coverage against requirements
- Review requirements and identify gaps, inconsistencies, and potential quality risks
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution
- Partner with developers and business stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes
- Perform data validation and reconciliation using SQL as needed
- Test APIs, system integrations, interfaces, and application workflows
- Support deployment and production validation activities
- Maintain testing documentation, results, and defect-tracking records
- Provide updates on testing progress, defects, risks, and outstanding issues
- Participate in requirements reviews, project meetings, and release planning
- Recommend process improvements to increase testing efficiency and software quality
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of experience in IT quality assurance, software testing, or systems analysis
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and executing test cases
- 5+ years of experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects
- 5+ years of experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar testing/defect management platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- SQL and database testing experience
- API and system integration testing experience
- Automated testing experience
- Agile/Scrum experience
- Experience testing web-based and enterprise applications
- Strong understanding of SDLC and software testing methodologies
