Job Description

Workday Systems Integration Specialist 100% remote
Responsibilities:
Designs, develops, supports, and troubleshoots Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and
REST/SOAP
APIs based on organizational needs and best practices. Supports additional system integrations across APHL's platforms as needed to meet organizational and operational requirements. Builds and maintains inbound and outbound integrations for financial, supplier, contract, banking, accounting, and related data domains. Supports and maintains integration-related Workday security, including Integration System Users (ISUs), Integration Security Groups (ISGs), domain security, and business process permissions. Partners with Finance, People and Culture, Procurement, Legal and Compliance and external vendors to gather requirements, define scope, and translate business processes into scalable integration solutions. Troubleshoots complex integration errors, data issues, and security failures across environments; serves as an escalation point for advanced Workday integration issues. Monitors, supports, and maintains production Workday integrations, including scheduled jobs, alerts, failures, and data delivery to ensure operational continuity and data integrity. Supports Workday tenant architecture and environment strategy (Sandbox, Implementation, Production) as it relates to integrations, testing, and deployments. Designs, develops, and supports integration components outside of Workday when data is exchanged with external systems, including middleware, custom services, databases, and low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform). Applies general software development and integration patterns to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable data exchange between Workday and other systems. Works with
REST/SOAP
APIs, secure file-based integrations (CSV, XML, JSON), SFTP, certificates, and encryption to support data exchange with external platforms. Leads or supports integration testing, validation, deployment, and post-implementation support activities, including data reconciliation and issue resolution. Creates and maintains detailed documentation including integration architecture diagrams, data mappings, SOPs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides. Evaluates and recommends improvements to integration design, monitoring, automation, and operational support processes. Supports related enterprise platforms (e.g., Power Platform, SharePoint, middleware) when they intersect with Workday integrations.
Summary:
This position requires a strategic, analytical, and technically skilled individual with strong expertise in Workday integrations, enterprise system architecture, and security, particularly within financial and accounting domains. The Specialist must be capable of owning and supporting assigned integrations, collaborating across technical and non-technical teams, and delivering reliable, well-governed solutions that support organizational goals. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong integration engineering mindset, with the ability to work both within Workday and across external systems using general software development and backend integration skills.
Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience working with Workday, with a strong emphasis on integration development and support. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, and
REST/SOAP
APIs. Experience supporting Workday Financials, Accounting, Suppliers, Contracts, or Banking integrations. Experience supporting or preparing for HRIS and employee benefits integrations preferred.
