PUBLIC WORKS ENGINEER

Do you want to be a part of team that is recognized by Concord and the surrounding communities for its success in developing and implementing major projects? Concord Public Works is seeking an individual to join the talented and well-equipped engineering team. Concord is a progressive, customer-focused municipality, and the Engineering Division undertakes significant in-house survey, design, inspection, and project management using state of the art technologies. This position provides municipal engineering and project management services relating to the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of all public works projects. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and three to five years of related experience. EIT certification is preferred, or candidates must have the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire. A valid driver's license is required. Candidates should also have an interest in pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license and Massachusetts Soil Evaluator certification. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage priorities and work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Starting salary range $36.93 to $44.13 per hour ($76,809.98 to $91,795.08 annually) , starting pay rate depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, on-site position, with a complete benefits package. Appointment of the final candidate will be contingent upon the results of pre-placement conditions including criminal and motor vehicle record checks, a physical exam, and a drug screening. Costs for these pre-placement requirements will be borne by the Town.
