Job Description
Our client is currently seeking a MDU/MTU Telecommunications Engineer in Portland OR or San Francisco, CA. Candidate must be local to market This job will have the following responsibilities:
- Performing site surveys with property owners of Multi-Dwelling/MDU and Multi-Tenant/MTU locations.
- Design and install of equipment used in transmitting broadband data in MDU/MTU scenarios.
- Hand-on experience with coax, twisted pair copper or fiber optic cabling and complex networks as well as switching equipment
- Coordinating installation of new MDU/MTU in-building networks or equipment
- Evaluate multi-tenant (residence and business) buildings to determine compatibility with different networks and systems
- Manage large build projects involving broadband services, and ensure timely planning and implementation
- Quality Control of work done by General Contractors
- Producing technical as-built documentation
- Provide general ad-hoc operational support for local field engineering and sales teams
Must Have Skills:
- Knowledge & experience with the design and install of MDU/MTU in-building network requirements
- Knowledge & experience with CATV provider termination points (e.g., terminals, pedestals)
- Hands-on experience with installation, testing and troubleshooting Coax and Cat6a Ethernet cabling
- Must possess a vehicle capable of transporting tools and equipment including 28' Extension Ladder
- Hands-on experience working off of ladders (step/extension/folding)
- Frontline experience with working with customer/clients
- Knowledge & experience with Google Suite and other computer and mobility based applications
- Experience with working on multiple dwelling/commercial building rooftops (flat and/or pitched)
