Long Beach, CA or Irvine, CA General Responsibilities As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will independently prepare, plan, and execute small to medium-sized healthcare projects with general supervision. You'll apply standard design techniques, perform engineering calculations, and contribute to construction documentation and administration. Pre-Design Engineering + Review existing as-built drawings + Conduct field investigations + Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines + Coordinate design schedules and deliverables + Perform feasibility studies + Prepare schematic designs + Design Engineering + Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE + Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules + Design lighting systems and controls + Engineer normal, emergency, and renewable power systems + Conduct Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies + Experience with low-voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) is a plus + Design Complexity + Perform routine engineering work using standard techniques + Conduct basic engineering calculations + Prepare construction estimates and specifications for small projects + Independently develop small reports and peer review small projects + Construction Administration + Review submittals and respond to RFIs + Produce meeting reports and punch lists + Participate in construction meetings and provide clarifications Education & Certification + Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field + Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred + LEED Accreditation is a plus Experience Required + Minimum 2 years of engineering design experience post-graduation or equivalent professional experience + Prior experience working on healthcare/hospital buildings preferred Working Knowledge + Microsoft Office Suite + AutoCAD + Revit (a plus) + California Building Code (a plus) + National Electrical Code (a plus) + HCAI experience (a plus) + Net Zero Energy/Carbon design (a plus) \#LI-Hybrid #LI-CC1
