HOW THE VoIPENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
We are seeking an experienced VoIP Engineer to design, implement, secure, and support enterprise voice and collaboration systems in geographically dispersed environments. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in large-scale Cisco Unified Communications and delivers secure, reliable voice and video services supporting mission-critical federal and defense operations. Key Responsibilities Engineer and administer Cisco UC platforms including CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressways, Jabber, and related systems across NIPR/SIPR and VoSIP networks. Monitor, maintain, and optimize UC systems for performance and availability using RTMT and SolarWinds. Perform system upgrades, migrations, and patching for UC infrastructure, including CiscoUCS, VG450
gateways, and VMware environments. Implement DISA STIGs, remediate ACAS findings, and maintain DoW cybersecurity compliance. Provision and deploy telephony devices, including BAT files, templates, and automation workflows. Develop and maintain technical documentation such as system designs, installation guides, and operational procedures. Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, and infrastructure teams to resolve complex UC issues. Conduct site surveys, produce as-built documentation, and recommend design improvements for scalability and security. Provide Tier II/III support, user training, and end-user documentation. Support planning and deployment of new UC services and contribute to technology roadmaps. What you'll need to be successful: 7+ years of experience engineering and administering Cisco Unified Communications in enterprise or DoW environments. CCNA certification. Hands-on experience with CUCM, Unity Connection, Expressways, SIP, QoS, and VG gateways. Experience upgrading and migrating Cisco UC systems, including UCS and VMware ESXi. Strong knowledge of DISA STIGs, IA controls, and DoW security standards. Proven ability to troubleshoot complex UC issues in distributed networks. Experience with RTMT and SolarWinds. Strong technical documentation skills. Superb and effective technical, communication, collaboration, and customer engagement skills; strong ability to multi-task, problem solve, and take initiative; attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environmentCertifications:
Must Possess the appropriate baseline certification(s) to achieve a minimum of DoW 8570.01-M Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (i.e., CompTIA Security+ CE) prior to start. Will need to obtain an additional computing environment certification (i.e., one of the CSSP sections certifications (i.e., CISCO certs, CEH, CCNA-Security, CND, etc.) within six-months of hire based on position designation. When 8140 requirements are implemented on program/contract, employees will need to conform to 8140 certification standards.Clearance Level Requirements:
