Job Description
Job Description The Unified Communications Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of enterprise voice and collaboration platforms. This individual will manage and troubleshoot VoIP, SIP, UC, and telecommunications systems while partnering closely with network and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable voice services across the organization. The role requires hands-on experience with network technologies that support voice environments, including VLANs, QoS, routing, switching, DHCP, DNS, and SIP trunking. Responsibilities include system upgrades, performance optimization, troubleshooting call quality and connectivity issues, and maintaining the overall availability, security, and reliability of voice and UC services. https://insightglobal.com/workforce-privacy-policy/. Skills and Requirements- 2-4 years of experience supporting enterprise VoIP / Unified Communications environments
- Experience administering and troubleshooting SIP-based phone systems, SIP trunking, voicemail platforms, and AudioCodes gateways
- Ability to diagnose call quality issues including latency, jitter, packet loss, and call routing problems
- Strong understanding of the network infrastructure that supports voice services, including VLANs, QoS, routing, switching, DHCP, DNS, and WAN connectivity
- Cisco UC / Collaboration technologies
- Cisco or Juniper networking experience
- Wi-Fi troubleshooting for voice services
- Packet capture and VoIP analysis tools
- Firewall and VPN experience
- Experience working with telecom carriers and SIP providers
- Higher education experience
- Network and voice infrastructure documentation experience
