Job Description

Escape Room Game Master / Host Get paid to make people's day more fun. Do you love talking to people, making people laugh, solving problems, and being the person who brings the energy to the room? Then you might be exactly who we're looking for. As an Escape Room Game Master / Host, you'll help create an unforgettable experience for every group that walks through our doors. You'll welcome guests, hype them up before their game, guide them through their adventure and make sure they leave with a great experience (whether they escape or not). No previous escape room experience? No worries. We'll train you. We're much more interested in your personality, reliability, coachability and ability to make people feel welcome. What You'll Do as a Game Master Once the doors close, the fun begins. As a Game Master, you'll be the behind-the-scenes MVP making sure each game runs smoothly.
You'll:
Monitor groups from the control room Give clues and hints when guests need a little help Keep games fun, exciting, and immersive Explain rules and answer questions Keep an eye out for anything that needs attention Think quickly and troubleshoot problems when they come up Communicate with the rest of the team throughout the day Reset rooms so they're ready for the next group Keep the control room organized and game-ready Encourage and celebrate groups whether they escape with seconds to spare or completely miss the clock What You'll Do as a Host You're the person guests see first, so you set the vibe.
You'll:
Welcome guests with a friendly, energetic attitude Get groups excited before their game Explain the storyline and rules clearly Lead groups to their escape room Brief and debrief guests before and after their experience Answer questions and help guests feel comfortable Make sure guests complete their waivers Handle large groups, parties, and corporate events Help guests with questions, concerns, or anything else they need Sell merchandise and keep track of inventory Answer phone calls and emails Keep guests motivated and positive even when the clock wins Work closely with your teammates to keep everything running smoothly Help keep the lobby, restrooms, rooms, and overall facility clean and organized You'll Probably Be a Great Fit If You... Actually like talking to people Have a naturally upbeat and welcoming personality Aren't afraid to speak in front of groups Can confidently explain things without putting people to sleep Are comfortable making small talk and making strangers feel welcome Stay calm when things get hectic Are good at thinking on your feet Notice the little things and take pride in doing things right Can stay organized while juggling multiple groups and schedules Are dependable, punctual, and responsible Work well with a team Are comfortable using computers and learning new software Are willing to learn different parts of the business Bring good energy to work and help create a positive environment Can lift and/or carry at least 20 lbs. Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required Previous escape room, Game Master, hospitality, entertainment, or customer service experience is a plus, not a requirement We'll provide training for the right person Must be available to work weekends (Fri-Sun), including evenings Must be available to work during the week between Christmas and New Year's Day This is a year-round position Seasonal workers need not apply One Last Thing...
