Quinsigamond Community College is seeking student-centered faculty and staff who are committed to the community college mission and actively engaged in promoting diversity. The Interactive Media faculty member will be responsible for teaching, curriculum development, student assessment, student advisement, and related college service activities within the Associate in Science in Interactive Media program, including the Digital Design and Game Design options. The full-time workload for this position may require day, late afternoon, evening or weekend hours and may take place in Worcester, Southbridge, or any other QCC satellite location. Supervision Received Faculty member reports to the Dean of the School of English, Arts, and Humanities. Supervision Exercised The full-time faculty member exercises supervision over personnel assigned to him/her. Duties and Responsibilities Teaching & Learning Teach courses in Interactive Media Design and/or Game Design, including UI/UX, digital media, motion graphics, 3D modeling, and interactive/game design. Integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI-assisted design, real-time engines, AR/VR/XR, interactive prototyping) into instruction. Deliver project-based, portfolio-driven learning aligned with current and future industry workflows. Apply inclusive, student-centered teaching practices that support diverse learners. Curriculum, Assessment & Innovation Develop and revise curriculum aligned with industry trends and future workforce needs, including AI, immersive media, and cross-platform design. Implement authentic assessments (e.g., portfolios, client-based projects, applied learning). Participate in program review, outcomes assessment, and accreditation processes. Support innovation in labs and learning spaces, including evaluation and adoption of new technologies. Student Success & Engagement Advise and mentor students on academic, transfer, and career pathways, including emerging fields in interactive media. Foster a collaborative, studio-based learning environment emphasizing iteration and professional practice. Program & Industry Engagement Collaborate with faculty and staff to support program growth, recruitment, and retention. Contribute to building and maintaining industry partnerships to support internships, applied projects, and job placement. Support program operations, including planning for evolving software, hardware, and lab needs. Contribute to supporting partnerships with schools, community organizations, and employers. Professional Responsibilities Engage in college service and ongoing professional development, particularly in emerging technologies. Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and student-centered campus environment. Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Interactive Media, Digital Design, Game Design, or related field. Three (3) years of relevant industry experience OR Three (3) years of teaching or training experience. Proficiency with contemporary industry-standard design and development tools, such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Unity, Unreal Engine, or comparable platforms. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in a related field (or progress toward completion). Five (5) or more years of industry experience. Experience teaching in a community college or technical setting. Experience with emerging technologies, such as AI-assisted design, AR/VR/XR, real-time interactive development (Unity/Unreal), or immersive media. Evidence of curriculum development aligned with workforce and transfer pathways. Commitment to equity and inclusive teaching practices.
