As a community-first studio, we care as much about our worlds and players as we do about the people building them. That mindset has helped us grow into one of the most innovative teams on Roblox, pushing boundaries, shaping culture, and setting new standards across the platform. With over 7B game visits, 35M monthly players, and a 16M member community, our worlds have become a core part of the Roblox ecosystem. We're a ten time winner of the Roblox Innovation Awards and recognized as builders of the future of the platform. From Creatures of Sonaria and Dragon Adventures to World // Zero and Horse Life, we create experiences that players live in, not just visit. What are we looking for? We are now looking for a Roblox Gameplay Engineer who shares that passion and wants to help shape what comes next. In this role, you'll bring our worlds to life by implementing and refining gameplay content on Roblox. You'll work closely with designers to build mechanics, set up interactive systems, and make sure every moment feels smooth, fun, and memorable. If you want to build games that millions of players care about, this is the place to do it.
Responsibilities:
Implement and integrate gameplay content using Roblox Studio and Lua scripting. Partner with designers to bring features and mechanics to life. Set up and configure in-game assets, interactive objects, and gameplay systems. Debug and optimize content to ensure smooth performance. Collaborate with engineers and artists to refine existing features. Support iteration and polish of gameplay experiences to enhance player engagement.
Requirements:
3-5 years Experience working in Roblox Studio and scripting with Lua. Understanding of Roblox's gameplay systems, physics, and UI mechanics. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot gameplay issues. Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively. Passion for game development and creating engaging player experiences. Familiarity with Roblox API and best practices for performance optimization. Experience with datastores, leaderboards, or gamepasses in Roblox. Understanding of animation and character interactions in Roblox Studio.
Bonus Skills:
Experience designing and programming a high-quality Roblox game. Strong understanding of the Roblox community and player engagement strategies. Ability to work independently and in remote team environments. Additional game development skills, such as UI/UX design, game design, graphic design, audio design, 3D modeling, or texturing, to support engineering work.
Location:
Fully remote, but if Vegas sounds exciting, we can chat about relocation options.
Compensation:
$65,000 - $110,000 + Bonus. Most offers land within this range. If your experience sits outside it in either direction, we'd still like to have the conversation.
