Medical Consulting Group (MCG) is seeking a skilled and creative Web Designer with proven expertise in WordPress, WooCommerce and CSS. The ideal candidate will be confident in designing new websites from the ground up, maintaining and enhancing existing sites, and contributing to the ongoing digital growth of our clients. At MCG, we blend design, development, and strategic thinking to deliver powerful, user-focused online experiences. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to work onsite in Springfield, MO. Position Overview You'll take the lead on designing, building, and maintaining client websites using WordPress, with a focus on performance, usability, and design integrity. You'll also support WooCommerce builds, making sure online stores are visually polished and function smoothly. If you're experienced in custom styling with CSS, comfortable with dynamic content, and proactive about keeping sites updated and optimized, we want to hear from you. Key Responsibilities Design and develop responsive WordPress websites using page builders and themers. Build and style WooCommerce stores, product pages, and checkout flows. Customize layouts and modules with CSS for brand-aligned styling. Create dynamic, client-editable content using conditional logic, flexible content fields, and custom options. Update, maintain, and improve existing WordPress sites, including bug fixes, content updates, and plugin/theme maintenance. Optimize websites for performance, SEO, and accessibility. Troubleshoot and resolve layout, functionality, and compatibility issues. Collaborate with our in-house team to bring projects to life. Required Skills & Experience 2+ years of professional web design experience focused on WordPress. Proven experience with dynamic page building. Proficient in CSS (responsive layouts, custom styling, etc.). Solid understanding of WooCommerce setup, styling, and user experience. Skilled in responsive, mobile-first design practices. Familiar with WordPress theme structure and templating. Create site maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity design mockups. Experience using design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch. Ability to manage multiple client projects and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and design-thinking skills with an eye for detail and functionality. Comfortable receiving feedback and direction. Collaborate with developers to ensure seamless translation of design into functional, responsive websites. Additional Useful Skills PHP or JavaScript knowledge for extending WordPress functionality. Familiarity with web hosting (cPanel, staging environments, migrations). Understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) and SEO best practices. DNS setup and fundamentals. Technical proficiency with email marketing. Designing HIPAA Compliant forms. Why MCG ?
