Contract Web UI/UX Designer
PRO-PLAY GAMES LLC
Miami, FL Job Details Contract 17 hours ago Qualifications Web accessibility Web design Responsive design Slack Mid-level Communication platforms Visual design Direct sales Figma Design systems Mobile design Full Job Description About PPG Events PPG Events is a premier trading card game event organization specializing in live TCG events, competitive TCG gaming, and organized play. We support publishers through organized play activations, tournament operations, broadcast production, event staffing, community programs, and reporting. We also host the Pro-Play Summit, a competitive multi-TCG event series featuring major prizing, vendors, broadcasts, community experiences, and more. We are rebuilding our website to better represent who we are, what we offer, and how different audiences engage with our business. About the Project PPG Events is seeking a Contract Web UI/UX Designer to help design the next version of our website. This is a project-based contract focused on website strategy, user experience, visual design, responsive layouts, and a lightweight starter brand guide. The new website needs to serve two equally important audiences: B2
B:
publishers, partners, and organizations looking for organized play support, event operations, broadcast production, tournament services, and activations. B2
C:
players, attendees, vendors, talent, and community members looking for upcoming events, ticket links, vendor opportunities, event results, galleries, and post-event reports. A major goal of the project is to create clear audience routing. Publishers should be able to quickly find our services and feel confident contacting us for a discovery call. Players, attendees, and vendors should be able to quickly find the events, applications, results, and information that matter to them. We are open to discussing the best website structure during the project, including whether the experience should live as one unified site with clear audience paths or eventually separate into more distinct B2B and B2C experiences. What You'll Work On You will help us design a website experience that is clear, professional, mobile-friendly, and visually aligned with the energy of competitive TCG events. The site will likely include pages and templates such as: Homepage B2B services pages Premier convention event category pages Regional event category pages Pro-Play Summit pages Webcam tournament pages Event detail pages Post-event report and results pages Contact page Event support application page Vendor application page Talent application page Case study-style pages Gallery/media-heavy sections Reusable content modules and page sections The website should support both active and historical events, making it easy to showcase past work, event results, galleries, attendance data, broadcast viewership, and other proof points. B2B Service Areas The B2B side of the site should help present services such as: Organized play program management Tournament operations Event staffing Broadcast production Registration and ticketing support Prizing logistics Community management Reporting and data Publisher activations The design should help us build trust through partner logos, case studies, attendance numbers, broadcast viewership, games supported, testimonials, event galleries, post-event reports, operational capabilities, and team experience. B2C Event Experience The B2C side of the site should help players, attendees, vendors, and community members find the right information quickly. Event pages should be designed to support content such as: Event name, date, location, and game/title Registration CTA linking off-site to TopDeck.gg Schedule Prize information Venue information Hotel block Vendors Broadcast information Side events FAQ Rules documents Parking and travel information Contact information Post-event report pages should be able to support: Final standings Top Cut results Decklists Player names Metagame breakdowns Photo galleries VOD links Winner interviews Attendance numbers Game stats Downloadable reports Sponsor or vendor recaps Design Direction We are looking for a design direction that feels: Premium and professional Competitive and high-energy Community-first and welcoming Esports/broadcast-inspired Bold enough for a convention/event brand Polished enough for publisher-facing services Familiar with the culture of TCG events without feeling too niche or inaccessible Our current logo exists, but the brand system is loose. We are open to a full visual refresh while keeping the current logo and current color direction as the foundation. The existing colors should be expanded first and refined only where needed for polish, accessibility, contrast, or better web usability. The site will likely lean naturally dark because of the current color palette, but it still needs to feel readable, premium, and easy to navigate. Project Deliverables The primary deliverable is a website design package in Figma or a comparable professional design tool that our internal team can use to implement the site.
Expected deliverables include:
Website UX direction and audience-path strategy Homepage wireframe and high-fidelity design B2B services page or template B2C event category page template Event detail page template Post-event report/results page template Contact/application page layout Mobile-first responsive designs Desktop layouts for core templates Reusable UI components and page sections Navigation/header structure, including clear B2B/B2C routing Interaction states where relevant, such as buttons, cards, navigation, forms, and mobile menus Developer handoff notes for internal implementation Lightweight starter brand guide The starter brand guide should include practical foundations such as: Color palette Typography Button and link styles Form styles Card and content block styles Icon or graphic treatment Photography and event media direction Basic logo usage guidance UI component rules for consistency This is not intended to be a full brand identity overhaul. The starter guide should give our internal team and graphic designers a foundation we can continue expanding after the project. Implementation Notes We plan to implement the site in-house. The final platform may be WordPress with a page builder such as Elementor, or a React/Next.js build, depending on internal needs. This role is focused on design, UX, responsive layout, and handoff. Coding is not expected as part of the initial proposal. The designer should still understand practical web design constraints, responsive layouts, reusable components, and how to organize files so they can be implemented cleanly. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a mid-level web UI/UX designer or experienced freelance designer with strong web design work and a practical understanding of how websites are built. You should be comfortable designing content-heavy websites with multiple audience types, clear conversion paths, and reusable page templates. Strong candidates will likely have experience with some combination of: Event websites Content-heavy websites Case study pages B2B service websites Community or gaming-adjacent websites Mobile-first responsive web design Figma handoff for developers or internal implementation teams Design systems or reusable component libraries Media-heavy layouts using photography, video, galleries, or event recaps Experience with trading card games, competitive gaming, organized play, conventions, esports, or live events is a plus, but not required. Strong event, content, service, or community-focused web design experience is also highly relevant. Accessibility, SEO, and Usability The website should be designed with practical accessibility and usability basics in mind, including readable font sizes, strong color contrast, clear buttons and links, mobile-friendly spacing, simple navigation, and easy-to-understand forms. The design should also support SEO-friendly page structure through clear headings, logical content hierarchy, reusable templates, scannable sections, and internal linking between event pages, service pages, case studies, galleries, and post-event reports. Clear navigation is a major priority. We want to avoid cluttered layouts, confusing dropdowns, and user flows that make it difficult for publishers, players, vendors, or attendees to find the right next step. Project Structure This is a project-based contract for the initial website rebuild and lightweight starter brand guide. We are looking to begin soon. Timeline will be finalized based on the agreed scope and selected proposal. The designer will primarily collaborate with the PPG Events marketing manager, who will also provide final approval on designs. Communication may happen through a combination of email, Slack, scheduled calls, and Figma comments. The role is fully remote, with a preference for candidates who can work reasonably close to Eastern Time. Why Work With Us? This is an opportunity to help shape the digital presence of a growing company in the live TCG event and organized play space. Your work will help us communicate with publisher partners, support competitive player communities, promote major events, showcase event results, and create a flexible design foundation that can continue to grow with future PPG Events projects. For the right designer, this first project may lead to future contract work around specific event landing pages and recurring website design updates.
