Job Description

Contract WordPress Web Designer Webfitters is seeking a talented, detail-oriented Contract WordPress Web Designer to support the designand production of modern, high-performing websites for a variety of clients. This role is ideal for someonewho combines strong visual design instincts with practical knowledge of designing for WordPress andresponsive web development. The designer will work alongside our project management, development, marketing, and leadership teamsto create polished website designs that align with each client's brand, goals, and user experience needs.
Responsibilities:
Create custom website designs, page layouts, landing pages, and visual assets in Adobe Photoshop & Figma. Design responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts with usability and accessibility in mind. Translate client branding, content, and business goals into clear, engaging website experiences. Prepare organized Photoshop files, including properly named layers, artboards, and assets for handoff to development. Collaborate with project managers and developers to ensure designs are realistic, functional, and ready for WordPress implementation. Revise designs based on internal review and client feedback. Meet agreed-upon deadlines and communicate proactively about workload, questions, and project status.
Qualifications:
Proven experience designing professional websites, preferably for agency clients or a range of industries. Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; ability to create clean, well-organized, developer-ready PSD files is required. Experience designing websites that will be built in WordPress. Strong understanding of responsive design, UX/UI best practices, visual hierarchy, and conversion-focused layouts. Ability to work from brand guidelines while also making thoughtful design recommendations. Familiarity with web typography, image optimization, and basic accessibility standards. Ability to receive feedback constructively and make revisions efficiently. Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Figma, Adobe Photoshop or other design tools. Familiarity with WordPress page builders, themes, plugins, and common development constraints. Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS. Experience working with digital marketing team on marketing assets as requested. Experience working remotely with an agency or project-based team.
Contract Details:
This is a contract, project-based position. Work volume may vary depending on client needs and active projects. The contractor must be able to manage deadlines independently, track time accurately, and maintain reliable communication throughout each project.
