You Are:

UST is looking for a strong Java Backend Engineer to work on a multi-vendor multi-geo team to help build a NextGen High Scale Enterprise Platform.

The opportunity:

• Design, develop, and implement high-performance Java-based applications.
• Analyze business and user requirements to define application architecture and technical solutions.
• Define application objectives, features, and functionality aligned with business goals.
• Design and develop scalable, secure, and distributed microservices-based applications.
• Build RESTful APIs and backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and maintain event-driven applications using Apache Kafka.
• Participate in architecture discussions and recommend improvements to existing systems and Java infrastructure.
• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues.
• Produce detailed technical design documents and development specifications.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and software engineering principles.
• Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop user and technical documentation where required.
• Support CI/CD implementation and deployment automation.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously enhance technical expertise.

What you need:

Experience range: 5 - 8 Years

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Java, Microservices, Spring Boot, Microsoft Azure, CI/CD, Design Patterns, Object-Oriented Programming, Production Support, REST, SQL.
• 5-6 years hands on experience in Java development at enterprise level (recent).
• Experience in working Java Version 18 or above is mandatory 3-4 years of hands-on experience with Kafka 2-3 years of solid experience in Kubernetes.
• Strong programming skills in Java, including object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and familiarity with Java frameworks.
• Understanding of microservices architecture and experience in building and deploying microservices-based applications Hands-on experience in developing Spring Boot applications, including dependency injection, ORM (Object-Relational Mapping), and

REST API

development Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud platform, including Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL or

COSTMOS DB

Familiarity with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices, including automated testing, build pipelines, and deployment strategies Proficiency in writing SQL queries as per industrial standards, fine-tuned for optimization.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, good communication (written & verbal) skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team are also important for this role.
• The evaluation includes an hands on coding/troubleshooting exercise and should be able to articulate past projects and do on the fly troubleshooting/ write logic.

Compensation can differ depending on factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, education, and level of experience. UST provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in various U.S. markets as set forth below.

Bentonville, Arkansas Compensation Range:

$75,000-$113,000 Benefits Full-time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro-rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching. They and their dependents residing in the US are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as the following Company-paid Employee Only benefits: basic life insurance, accidental death and disability insurance, and short- and long-term disability benefits. Regular employees may purchase additional voluntary short-term disability benefits, and participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) as well as a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for healthcare, dependent child care, and/or commuting expenses as allowable under IRS guidelines. Benefits offerings vary in Puerto Rico.
