Position Overview We are seeking a part-time WordPress Web Development Intern to assist with the build-out and ongoing maintenance of a professional business website. The website design, branding, content direction, and page wireframes will be provided. The primary responsibility of this position will be translating those wireframes into well-designed, functional WordPress pages while maintaining consistency in branding across the website. This is a good opportunity for a student, recent graduate, or early-career web professional who has hands-on WordPress experience and wants to build real-world website development experience. Primary Responsibilities Build and format WordPress website pages based on provided wireframes and design direction Use Elementor to create and modify page layouts Maintain consistent fonts, colors, spacing, buttons, imagery, and other design elements throughout the website Add and format supplied website copy, images, links, and other content Ensure pages display properly on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices Make revisions based on feedback during the website development process Update WordPress core, themes, and plugins as directed Monitor plugin compatibility when updates are performed Identify and report website errors, broken layouts, plugin conflicts, or other technical issues Perform basic WordPress troubleshooting Assist with general website maintenance as needed Preferred Qualifications Some hands-on experience working with WordPress Experience with Elementor or a similar WordPress page builder Basic understanding of responsive web design Familiarity with WordPress plugins, themes, and updates Basic HTML and CSS knowledge is a plus Strong attention to detail Comfortable following wireframes and established design standards Ability to work independently and follow written instructions Willingness to learn and troubleshoot unfamiliar WordPress issues Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate does not need to be an advanced programmer or senior web developer. We are looking for someone who understands the fundamentals of WordPress, has good visual judgment, pays close attention to detail, and can accurately translate an established design into a working website. This role is particularly well suited for a student studying web development, digital media, graphic/web design, information technology, marketing technology, or a related field who wants hands-on professional experience.
Pay:
$16.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
