About Us Backyard Studios is an award-winning digital marketing agency in San Antonio, founded in 2002. We build custom marketing websites for businesses across the country, from local restaurants and nonprofits to multi-location medical groups. We are a small, senior team of intelligent, hard-working people who like a new challenge. Our principal, creative director, marketing director, designers, and strategists all collaborate on the same accounts. The Work Beautiful, fast, mobile-first marketing sites that rank. Half new builds from Figma, half updates and improvements across our client base, all in WordPress and Webflow. Work reaches you through ClickUp, already prioritized, so you know what is in front of you when you sit down. We build marketing websites. We do not build apps, platforms, or custom software. If your background is software engineering, application development, or IT, this is not the right role for you. What you'll bring Build out Figma design so it matches, on phone and desktop, without making the designer cringe Mobile-first by habit, not as a cleanup pass at the end Implement on-page SEO you are handed: title tags, metas, headings, alt text, schema Make a slow page fast, and know why it was slow WordPress custom themes and PHP, plus Webflow (we don't use templates) The plumbing: DNS, SFTP, hosting, SSL, migrations, plugin conflicts, launches Several websites moving at once without losing track How you'll work Ask questions first and communicate with your team. You flag a problem the day you see it, not the day it is due. You work something out before bringing it to someone, and you ask a good question when you are stuck. Clients hear back from you the same day, and so does the team. On AI We are ahead of most agencies on AI and intend to stay there. You direct the tool, it does not direct you, and you can explain anything with your name on it. Requirements 3+ years building marketing websites at an agency or on an in-house marketing team. This is what we weigh most heavily. Links to business or brochure sites you built. We will look at them on a phone. WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, Webflow, and working knowledge of on-page SEO On-site in San Antonio, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Not remote, not hybrid, no relocations. Compensation $55,000 to $75,000 based on demonstrated skill. 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays.
