POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for growing the game at all levels—from beginners to advanced players. Thrive in a community environment and deliver elevated coaching for competitive players. This position is a 30 hour per week benefited position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide high-quality instruction for a wide range of players, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced juniors and adults Lead group clinics, private lessons, camps, and community-based programming Design and implement lesson plans that emphasize both technical development and tactical awareness Coach and develop higher-level juniors and adults preparing for competitive play (high school, USTA, tournaments) Foster a fun, inclusive, and engaging environment that encourages player retention and growth Evaluate player skill levels and provide clear pathways for progression within the program Assist Head Pro with staff training and Junior pro development Build strong relationships with players, families, and the community
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain tennis equipment and assist with court/facility upkeep Collaborate with fellow staff to ensure consistency across all programming levels Participate in staff meetings and contribute to program development goals Perform additional duties as assigned by the Recreation Manager
  • ATC and Head Tennis Professional Assist with special events and tournaments Job Qualifications Minimum 5+ years of on-court coaching experience, including lead professional experience Demonstrated ability to coach both recreational and competitive players Strong technical understanding of stroke mechanics and player development Solid tactical knowledge of singles and doubles play Ability to connect with players of all ages and skill levels Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills Positive, team-oriented attitude with a passion for community engagement Availability to work evenings, holidays and weekends Education and Experience A high school diploma and five years of experience teaching tennis are required, including group and private lessons, developmental programs, clinics, and drills for participants of all ages and abilities.
Preferred:
bachelor's degree, RSPA Certification. NTRP rating of 4.5 or higher. Must have current CPR/AED/first aid certifications or the ability to obtain them within 90 days. Must possess a valid Colorado driver's license. Work Environment Combination of outdoor and/or indoor court settings within a community recreation environment Physically active role requiring extended time on court (standing, moving, demonstrating skills, lifting/moving equipment) Exposure to varying weather conditions Fast-paced, community-focused setting with a mix of recreational and competitive programming Physical Activity(s): Must be able to push, pull, lift, or carry items up to 50 lbs. for tennis-related purposes.
