00 This Occupational Therapist position is based in the Fort Mohave, Arizona area, a sunny and scenic community along the Colorado River. Fort Mohave offers a relaxed desert-river lifestyle with abundant outdoor activities. You can enjoy easy access to the Colorado River and Lake Mohave for boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and other water sports. Nearby Davis Dam and the surrounding riverfront parks provide scenic views, walking paths, and picnic areas, while the broader region offers hiking, trail running, and desert exploration. The area is known for its warm climate and year-round sunshine, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy outdoor recreation and an active lifestyle.

Fort Mohave also benefits from its proximity to neighboring communities such as Bullhead City and Laughlin. Within a short drive, you can find a variety of restaurants, live music, entertainment venues, and casino resorts, giving you a mix of small-community living with easy access to nightlife and amenities. The cost of living in this region is generally more manageable than in many larger metropolitan areas, allowing you to enjoy both professional fulfillment and a comfortable lifestyle.

The role is within an acute care and inpatient rehabilitation environment that is designed to support recovery for medically complex patients. The facility offers modern inpatient units and therapy spaces, with an interdisciplinary team approach that includes occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nurses, case managers, and physicians all working together to optimize patient outcomes. You will be part of a collaborative rehab team that values communication, evidence-based practice, and patient-centered care.

Typical responsibilities include performing comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering skilled interventions to help patients regain independence with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and functional mobility. You will work with a variety of diagnoses including post-surgical, orthopedic, neurologic, and general medical conditions. The caseload may include patients transitioning from short-term acute care into a dedicated inpatient rehab setting, allowing you to follow patients through a critical phase of their recovery.

A typical day may include morning evaluations and treatments on a hospital unit, interdisciplinary rounds with the care team to discuss goals and discharge plans, afternoon treatment sessions focused on ADL retraining and functional mobility, and documentation time within the EMR. You may assist with caregiver training, home safety education, and recommendations for adaptive equipment or continued therapy services. Patient loads and productivity expectations are designed to balance high-quality care with manageable workloads, and patient ratios are structured to support safe, effective treatment sessions.

Shifts are generally daytime hours with some flexibility depending on census and department needs, and may include rotating weekends or holiday coverage to support consistent patient care in the acute setting. The therapy spaces are equipped with a variety of adaptive devices, functional training environments, and updated equipment to support innovative and engaging treatment sessions. New team members can expect a supportive orientation process, access to experienced colleagues, and opportunities to develop clinical strengths in areas such as neurological and orthopedic rehab.

This position is well-suited for an Occupational Therapist who values meaningful patient relationships, enjoys working in a close-knit interdisciplinary team, and appreciates the balance of a relaxed river community with access to nearby entertainment and amenities. It offers a chance to build a strong clinical resume in acute and inpatient rehab while living in a warm, outdoor-oriented area. Required Qualifications Occupational Therapist, Acute
