Job Description
Company Overview The Arc of St. Charles is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as the elderly community. Our mission is to provide compassionate support and foster independence through community-focused programs and services. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Thrift Store Manager to lead our retail operations. In this vital role, you will oversee daily store activities, manage staff, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain inventory control. Your leadership will drive sales growth, promote a positive shopping environment, and uphold the organization's mission through effective management and team development. Duties Supervise all store operations, including sales, merchandising, pricing, and inventory management Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure high performance and excellent customer service Oversee cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) systems, and daily financial transactions with accuracy Manage purchasing, stock replenishment, and inventory control to optimize product availability Lead shift management by coordinating schedules, supervising team members, and ensuring smooth store flow Implement marketing strategies to attract customers and increase community engagement Maintain organizational standards for cleanliness, safety, and store presentation Requirements Proven management experience in retail or thrift store environments with supervising responsibilities Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and inventory management Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are a plus Demonstrated leadership in team management, training & development, and store operations Knowledge of POS systems, merchandising techniques, pricing strategies, and retail math Ability to handle cash handling accurately and perform retail math calculations confidently Experience with budgeting, sales management, marketing initiatives, and inventory control systems Skilled in customer service excellence with strong organizational skills and time management abilities Previous assistant manager or supervisory experience preferred; familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store operations is advantageous Join our team to make a meaningful difference in the community while leading a vibrant retail environment!
