Position Overview We are seeking both Experienced Timber Framers and Entry-Level Apprentices . You will work alongside a skilled crew in our shop and on-site, participating in the layout, cutting, assembly, and raising of custom timber structures. For the

Experienced Timber Framer:

Accurately layout and cut complex traditional joinery (mortise and tenon, scarfs, dovetails) using hand and power tools. Read and interpret architectural blueprints, timber shop drawings, and piece drawings. Lead or assist in shop production and on-site frame raisings safely and efficiently. Mentor and help train apprentices on the crew. For the

Entry-Level Apprentice:

Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn the historic craft of timber framing from the ground up. Assist with shop organization, material handling, sanding, oiling, and prepping timbers. Learn to safely operate specialized timber tools (chain mortisers, circular saws, chisels, slicks). Bring a reliable, hard-working attitude and a sharp eye for detail every day.

Key Requirements & Qualifications Experience:

None required for the apprentice role (we will train the right person). 1-3+ years of carpentry, woodworking, or dedicated timber framing preferred for the experienced role.

Skills:

Basic math proficiency, ability to read a tape measure accurately, and physical stamina.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift heavy timbers (up to 75+ lbs comfortably), stand for long periods, and work comfortably at heights during frame raisings.

Attitude:

Strong work ethic, reliable transportation, safety-minded, and a team-first attitude.

Availability:

Ready to start immediately.
