Portage Path Behavioral Health is a nonprofit mental health agency that provides counseling, psychiatric care, crisis services, substance use treatment, and recovery support for individuals and families throughout Summit County, with a focus on accessible, community-based care.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate full-time Medical Assistant to join our outpatient healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support physicians and nurse practitioners performing both clinical and administrative duties to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient office operations. This position will split time between the Barberton and Cuyahoga Falls clinics.
Responsibilities:
Welcome and room behavioral health patients Obtain vital signs, medical histories, and medication information Assist providers during psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits Coordinate referrals, lab work, and prescription refills Schedule appointments and manage patient records in the EMR system Support crisis intervention procedures according to office protocols Administer injections and medications as directed Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen collection Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, addiction medicine, or social services preferred Reliable transportation
