Job Description
Encounter Learning Center is seeking a warm, caring teacher to nurture children in a play-based, Reggio Emilia inspired program. As a teacher, you will plan and implement creative lessons, guide children through inquiry and exploration, and help them develop socially, emotionally, physically, and cognitively. This role primarily serves older toddlers, with a focus on potty training support and school-readiness skills to prepare children for their transition into preschool.
Responsibilities:
Develop weekly lesson plans that align with program philosophy and state early learning standards covering areas such as literacy, math, science, arts and social-emotional growth Lead small and large group activities, including read alouds, imaginary play, building projects, art, music, and movement Observe children to assess development and scaffold next steps Maintain a safe, clean classroom environment Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate on goals Participate in professional development to stay current in best practicesQualifications:
Massachusetts EEC Certification 5+ years experience as early childhood education teacher Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field Willing to commute or relocate to Westwood, MA Strong classroom management abilities Patient, caring temperament and ability to connect with young children Creativity and enthusiasm We care about YOU!
