Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Die Maker to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for building, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining precision tooling, dies, fixtures, and components while ensuring all products meet exact specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with machine tools, blueprint reading, precision measuring equipment, and die repair/building processes. Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and tool descriptions Plan sequences of operations for die building and repair projects Set up and operate machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, machining centers, and EDM wire machines Machine and fabricate tooling components to precise specifications Fit, assemble, and align die components and tooling assemblies Verify dimensions and tolerances using micrometers, height gauges, gauge blocks, and precision measuring tools Modify and repair existing tooling as required Develop tooling layouts and sketches using drafting tools and software programs Troubleshoot tooling and machining issues to maintain production efficiency Maintain coolant levels, perform PM checks, and ensure work area cleanliness and safety compliance Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production and tooling needs Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Minimum 4 years of trade school, apprenticeship, vocational training, or equivalent die making experience preferred Strong understanding of tooling, machining, and die repair processes Experience operating lathes, milling machines, grinders, machining centers, and EDM equipment Ability to read blueprints and precision measuring instruments accurately Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50-100 lbs occasionally Ability to stand, bend, push, pull, and reach throughout shift Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, dust, oils, and moving machinery
