Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Toolmaker to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds that are essential for our production processes. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality standards are met while optimizing efficiency across various manufacturing operations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining technologies and contribute to innovative product development in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Design and develop custom tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and molds using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD to meet specific manufacturing requirements. Program CNC machines including CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and stamping presses to produce precise tooling components. Operate and set up CNC equipment with proficiency in CNC programming and CAM software to ensure accurate machining processes. Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial gauges to inspect tooling parts for dimensional accuracy and quality. Fabricate tools through various methods including welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), fabrication with hand tools, and plastics injection molding techniques. Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure proper assembly and functionality of tools. Maintain detailed records of tooling production, repairs, modifications, and inspections to support continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Proven experience in toolmaking or a related manufacturing role with a strong background in machining and fabrication processes. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD for designing tooling components. Skilled in CNC programming for CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and CAM programming to operate advanced machining equipment. Knowledge of GD&T standards for precise measurement and quality control of tooling parts. Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, stamping presses, welding techniques, and hand tool fabrication. Mechanical knowledge of schematics, electrical wiring diagrams, and manufacturing blueprints. Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and other measurement tools accurately. Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot tooling issues efficiently. Effective communication skills for collaborating with engineering teams and documenting work processes.
