Duties Safely load, unload, and transport baggage using manual handling techniques and ground support equipment such as carts, dollies, or forklifts when certified. Assist with baggage tracking to ensure accurate routing and timely delivery to aircraft or baggage claim areas. Operate airport ramp equipment and ground support vehicles in compliance with safety regulations and airport procedures. Conduct routine maintenance checks on baggage handling equipment and airfield machinery to ensure optimal performance. Communicate effectively with team members using two-way radios to coordinate baggage movement and airport operations. Follow strict security protocols and federal aviation regulations to maintain a safe environment for all personnel. Support outdoor work activities on the airfield, including heavy lifting, manual handling, and materials management under various weather conditions. Requirements Fluency in English; proficiency in Haitian Creole or additional languages is a plus for effective communication with diverse teams. Previous experience in baggage handling, warehouse operations, or logistics is preferred. Valid forklift certification and experience operating ground support equipment are highly desirable. Demonstrated management or supervising experience in a fast-paced environment is advantageous. Knowledge of aviation safety standards, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), and airfield equipment maintenance procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting, manual handling, and outdoor work comfortably while maintaining safety protocol adherence. Strong organizational skills with excellent time management to meet tight schedules efficiently. Mechanical knowledge related to ground support equipment maintenance is beneficial. Experience working in airport ramp operations or similar outdoor logistics environments is preferred.
