AirMed International seeks a Fixed Wing Pilot to operate air medical transport missions from our Birmingham base. In this safety-first, mission-driven role, you will conduct IFR/VFR flights, perform thorough preflight planning and aircraft inspections, and ensure strict adherence to FAA, company, and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with clinical and operations teams during time-sensitive missions, communicate clearly with dispatch and ATC, and manage flight risk in diverse weather and global environments while maintaining exceptional professionalism and patient-focused service. Responsibilities Conduct safe IFR and VFR fixed-wing air medical transport flights from preflight to shutdown Perform thorough preflight planning, weight and balance, fuel calculations, and weather analysis Complete comprehensive preflight and postflight aircraft inspections and documentation Ensure strict compliance with FAA regulations, company SOPs, and air medical safety standards Collaborate closely with clinical and operations teams during time-sensitive missions Communicate effectively with dispatch, ATC, and ground teams throughout each mission Assess and manage operational risk, including weather, terrain, and patient-related constraints Maintain aircraft cleanliness, readiness, and accurate flight and maintenance logs Participate in ongoing training, checkrides, and safety/CRM programs Represent Air Med International professionally with patients, families, and client organizations Required Skills IFR flight operations VFR flight operations Flight planning and navigation Aircraft preflight and postflight inspection FAA Part 135/air ambulance regulations Crew Resource Management (CRM) Emergency and abnormal procedures Use of EFB/aviation software Aviation weather interpretation Radio communication with ATC and dispatch
